The score is around what I was scoring on practice tests. Quantitative seemed very tricky. Verbal was a breeze.
Test day anecdotes:
I couldn't sleep very well at night. I got maybe about 6 good hours of sleep. Got to the center early and the Pearson folks seemed nice. Took a set of ear plugs because I had to sit on the desk right next to the door. The location was not ideal -- I could hear people walking in and out. The erasable noteboards are not that bad, but make sure the markers work. The markers are difficult to get used to and I did have a bit of trouble at the start but nothing too alarming. I took all the breaks -- I loaded up on gatorade and a powerbar in each of the breaks. I made sure not to drink too much (what goes in must come out!). I was a little dissapointed at the screen size (15" CRT monitors) and the computer was a little slow. I could noticably see the computer locking up when I started typing. The stupid thing couldn't keep pace with my typing speed! The rest of the test there was about 1-2 second pause between some questions. It was a little annoying, but i'll take it because of the end result.
AWA:
Topics were easy. I managed my time by typing for 20 minutes and then editing for 10 minutes for each essay.
Quantitative section:
Did not see any probability questions. Only 1 permutation question. There were several tricky questions on number properties and inequalities. Managed time reasonably well and finished with a minute remaining. I can safely say that none of the questions after the first two were simple. Each question seemed to be more trickier than the last. The concepts werent hard. The questions just seemed to be tough to solve in 2 minutes. Verdict: Quantitative has gotten trickier. My scores on practice tests were always 49 to 51. I finished with the average = 50.
Verbal section:
Started with sentence correction and critical reasoning. And I saw four RC passages. Two of the passages were big, 2 were small. Overall managed to finish it with about 10 minutes to spare. The difficultly level was about the same as OG 11. Practice scores were in the range of 41-48. Actual test: 47
My practice scores were in the range of 740-780 on the GMATPrep and Princeton Review tests. Did not take any Kaplan tests except for the Diagnostic on which I scored 690.
As for prep material: OG 11, OG 10 (partially), Gmatclub Challenges, Manhattan SC and Math books, GMAT 800 and Princeton Review 2003 edition for strategies.
OG 11 was by far the most useful. I did not look at any of the other materials more than once.
