HI BB, Mainly looking to boost my application, but as a consequence learn as well.

Thanks Veritas. These course seem to be really expensive. Any other alternatives?

Many applicants also take in-person classes at their local community colleges if you have the time this is also another option and with it being an in-person option holds a bit more weight

The MBAMath course is a good refresher. I know that a lot of programs require admitted students to take it prior to starting the program. You could take it and have the transcript sent to your schools of choice.

I am also interested in this.

I currently live abroad, am applying R2 to a number of schools, and would really like to bump my app up a little bit with some online credits. The issue is since I am abroad they need to be entirely online.

I have calculus and stats already but im looking for micro econ and basic accounting.

I am assuming Coursera or something similar isnt really going to make much of a difference on my application.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I just scoped out UCLA extension and they dont have anything that quite fits the bill AND is completely online.

@CompaitbilityMode Harvard has also recently launched some online courses as well (HBX) that have gained steam recently. Also consider UC Irvine as they have some pre-MBA courses that may fit the bill for you

HBX CORe might be the right idea, thanks for your recommendation. I am not sure it will be the whole push I need to get into my dream school, but it will certainly make the stretch less and make me feel more confident going into interviews and B-School itself.

One more quick question, if I am registered but not beginning pre-MBA courses until after the application is due, is it going ot have any clout on my application when I bring it up in the optional essay?

I would think the best (only?) way a supplemental course would help your profile would be if you submitted final grades with the application. While mentioning your plans to take the course might have a "look at their effort and ambition! that's noted" effect, I think the most clout would come from demonstrating aptitude by earning an A in the course(s). Will the course be finished in time that you might be able to hopefully update admissions before they review your application?

An admissions consultant might have better advice but this is what I gathered when deciding if/when I should take supplemental courses myself.
