Hi. My doubt is whether adaptive nature of GMAT applies while transitioning from one section to another. Eg. My strength is Quant and if I attempt Quant first (& do well), should I be expecting hard questions right away from Q1 in next section (say Verbal)?
Or does GMAT start with easy questions and gradually increase the difficulty, in every section as a block.
Would love to know your opinion, bb.

Hi. What we have learned from GMAC (there is not much) but that the impact of the previous section is very slight, similar to having answered 1 question correctly and I feel you dont' have to do REALLY well - you could do well enough, and it seems a very minor impact. You can basically disregard it in your section selection.

It generally doesn't work well to order your sections based on the algorithm (if that's what you're trying to do).
It makes more sense to simply think of how you experience each section and which one you need the most fresh for. Since quant is typically weighted higher by most programs, you want to prioritise your mental power for that section. But if, for example, English is not your native language and verbal is particularly challenging, a decent score in that section becomes equally important to demonstrate your ability to cope in an English medium intensive MBA program.
I would try out a couple of order variations early in your practice test series to see if you feel noticeably different with a particular order.
