Morning,
I am writing about the three models highlighted in the title with regard to designing and analysing an organisation (avoiding going off tangent about strategy and focused on design).
- Galbraith's Star Model
- Mintzberg Configurations. His models included: (Entrepreneurial, Machine, Professional, Diversified, Innovative, Missionary, Politicial organisations)
- Stafford Beer's Viable Systems Model (VSM) focusing on cybernetics and an autonomous systems thinking model.
I hope to use this research in applying to my organisation and revise such concepts prior to applying for an MBA next year.
I have researched in-depth about each of the models and know how they operate. However, I am stuck.
Can anyone give any advantages/disadvantages of these models independently over one another? Please I am extremely stuck comparing them to each other with regards to designing and analysing an organisation.
Have a great weekend.
Mr D.Williams
