arora1 do you have any feedback or suggestions?
Historically, Kelley has had a stronger name than Owen. It was sort of a second tier Kellogg with a focus in marketing. It has been consistent and solid. Owen has been moving up and down and rankings over the last 10 to 15 years and it’s probably in one of its best placements at the moment.
I feel that Owen has enjoyed a boom in Nashville and they cannot make expansion there and hiring have positively impacted the business school alarms. Also, Vanderbilt is a strong name in Nashville and is a very prestigious and selective university. It’s very well-known, kind of like Notre Dame which is actually not that far away from Kelley. But I digress.
Traditionally, Owen has had its strongest suit in finance. However, I feel it has a much more local sphere of influence than Indiana for example.
So unless one of the current Kelly students chimes in, and tells us some thing we don’t know, I feel Owen would be a strong contender from the standpoint of finance focus, finance placements and being located in a fun city where are you would have easier time going on recruiting trips and enjoying a diverse lifestyle.
