Ozone is a form of oxygen in which three atoms form a molecule rather than the more usual two-atom molecule of most atmospheric oxygen. Ozone appears to form in the upper atmosphere where it acts as a filter to some of the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight. Some chemicals reduce ozone to ordinary atmospheric oxygen. Extra ultraviolet radiation reaching the earth is claimed by some to constitute a source of global warming.
What conclusion can be drawn from the above information?
A) Global warming is necessarily bad.
B) A ban on all ozone-reducing chemicals will prevent global warming.
C) A ban on lighter-than-air chemicals, which reduce ozone in the upper atmosphere, will influence the levels of radiation reaching the earth.
D) We have insufficient information to determine the extent of global warming
E) Concern about global warming is hysterical and unscientific.

A) Global warming is necessarily bad.-> might be, we cannot conclude it from the given info
B) A ban on all ozone-reducing chemicals will prevent global warming.-> not necessarility, question says "a source" indicating there could be many more agents helping global warming
C) A ban on lighter-than-air chemicals, which reduce ozone in the upper atmosphere, will influence the levels of radiation reaching the earth.->true,Ozone appears to form in the upper atmosphere where it acts as a filter to some of the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight.
D) We have insufficient information to determine the extent of global warming-> irrelevant
E) Concern about global warming is hysterical and unscientific.-> irrelevant
A) Global warming is necessarily bad. >>>No enough information to make that conclusion
B) A ban on all ozone-reducing chemicals will prevent global warming. >>>No enough information to make that conclusion.Other factors can contribute towards global warming.
C) A ban on lighter-than-air chemicals, which reduce ozone in the upper atmosphere, will influence the levels of radiation reaching the earth.
D) We have insufficient information to determine the extent of global warming >>>>>No enough information to make that conclusion
E) Concern about global warming is hysterical and unscientific. >>>No enough information to make that conclusion
I was confused between B & C. Read your answers to realise, that ozone depletion is only a factor, and not the sole cause of global warming.
Hence ban on all ozone depleting chemicals can not resolve the issue of Global warming.
On the other hand, and ban on these chemicals can surely reduce the UV radiation reaching us , as depleted ozone leads to more uv radiation reaching us. Hence C is correct.
