Re: Calling all IESE Applicants (2015 Intake) [#permalink]
Does anyone know how the assessment day flows?

It sounds like there are a ton of applicants going - did they just invite everyone who applied? I feel like it might be hard if you're with 50 other candidates all vying for the attention of the admissions committee :(

It sounds like it might turn into a convention senario where we're all just walking around...

Hi
I gave my interview last week and have been invited to the assessment day at singapore.
Due to prior appointments I wouldn't be able to make it there.
At the same time I really want to get into IESE.
Can I take the risk of missing the assessment day.
Indian candidate
Regards

Has anyone who attended the AD in Barcelona received their acceptance (or rejection) emails yet?

TheAlbatross did you get invited for an interview? if yes, then ask the area associate director and area coordinator. I think everyone gets an interview. gets invited to AD too.
I am located in the US. I received the interview invitation and the AD in one email.

Thanks for the information, sab7a. Perhaps Dec. 12 is the last possible date a decision could be released? In the closing remarks of the AD in Barcelona, I'm pretty sure I heard that we would receive decisions 'within a week'. Can anyone else confirm?

invited to AD on Nov 29 SG. Look forward to getting to know IESE better, the case method, and my teammates.
Anyone else attending coming from India?

Just googled for information on IESE's Assessment Day and found this thread by accident. Created a profile just now to join in =) hello everyone!

I'll be attending the AD in Singapore too! I see some people here are attending, great. Both excited and nervous, I must admit. Do people actually 'fail' or get rejected after the AD? I was pretty excited to be invited because it seems like a last step towards admission.

Yes, thats what I heard in Barcelona, too. Think information for everyone who attended AD will be released early next week!

Fingers crossed!

Hey Sab7a, yeah, I got the interview and AD invite at the same time. I was curious about the acceptance rate of people going to the AD but it sounds like that's not a factor. Thought they'd only invite certain people to the AD but guess I'm not special :| haha

TheAlbatross: From what I was told by a few current students, it sounds like the majority of people are filtered out during the initial application phase. I don't believe IESE would reveal specific numbers, but you can be proud - receiving an invite to the interview/AD is a big accomplishment.

Does IESE call or send mails for a potential offer?

I hope it's an email because I had a pretty bad assessment day :(

I prefer bad news via email and not over the phone.

Lasm1990, the NYC one was a lot of people, almost 40 candidates I think. It sounds like if you interview you were automatically invited for an assessment. Basically you get broken out into groups and then have to present a small case study they give you.

I think it's a tough way to evaluate candidates, especially with so many of us and so few evaluators (2), but that's how IESE does it. Wouldn't be surprised if I got dinged for not being overly enthusiastic like some were.

I'm thinking we must receive an e-mail. All of my correspondence, to this point, has been via e-mail.

It would really be nice to receive something early this week! I've been refreshing my e-mail more than I'd care to admit...
