Fifteen-month full-time residential management program PGDM (General Management)



The gates are open again! Below are few details you would like to know about the programme.

Use this thread for all your queries, concerns and discussions related to the XLRI-PGDM (GM).

Eligibility
  • Recognized bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in India/abroad in any discipline, be employed in a full-time job, must have at least five years of managerial experience as on March 31, 2017 in an organization of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector after completing graduation.
  • PGDM (GMP) Candidates may apply either through XAT or GMAT score .


Selection Criteria
  • Candidates may apply for more than one programme. Those who apply for multiple programmes may be called for multiple interviews and group discussions.
  • The selection criteria for different programmes may differ depending on the nature of the programme.
  • XAT written test will have multiple components and you need to maximize your performance in each of these components.
  • In its pursuit of academic excellence, XLRI actively encourages the students from diverse backgrounds. While preparing the shortlisted candidates for the interview, in addition to XAT performance, XLRI may factor in academic ability and the relevant work experience.
  • Besides performance in the personal interviews and group discussions, we also consider XAT performance, relevant work experience, academic ability, extra-curricular activities etc. while preparing the final list.
  • For candidates who cannot be present physically for the XLRI interviews due to their being out of the country, interviews would be carried out in online mode via Internet only for General Management Programme (GMP).

  3. Interview Process
  4. Result Announcement


Note:
  • Indian candidate applying through XAT 2017 Rs. 1600/- and Rs300/- each for every additional programme of XLRI
  • Foreign and NRI candidates applying through XAT 2017 $50 and $25 each for every additional programme of XLRI
  • Indian candidates through GMAT Rs 2500/-
  • Foreign and NRI candidates through GMAT Rs. 5000/-

PGDM (GMP) Candidates may apply either through XAT 2017 or GMAT score (taken between December 01, 2014 and December 20, 2016).

I took my GMAT in Feb 2017, as the date is not in between the specified period, Am I not eligible to apply?

Hi nishant12600,

It seems that they have not updated the dates on their portal yet. I have edited the original post

In my IMO, your score should be valid for next year's intake.

Hi Guys,

One question here.
Above it has been mentioned in the eligibility criteria - 5 years of work ex.is required,
Also, its stated that 'selection criteria may differ depending on the nature of the program'

I have 3 years of work ex., so am I not eligible to apply to XLRI ?

I am an Indian with 8 years of work experience in Energy sector.

I have a score of 640 in GMAT.
I am engineer by profession..

Kindly reply if I need to retake or should this score be sufficient..

Does anyone know how is the placement of the folks with 10 plus WE?

I have 10 plus WE and when I look at the profile for GMP, there are not enough folks with 10 plus WE. Is that a red flag for me?

Weird that I didn't hear anything from them after submission of application.

The application in itself seemed very inadequate.

Exactly what I was thinking. Moreover, I am pretty sceptical about the process. No essay, no CV, no recommendation. How are they going to shortlist us? If it's solely based on GMAT then I am screwed!

Exactly. I have my doubts regarding their 1 year programme. The 2 year programme is reputed. Lets see. Did you check with the office?

I contacted them before starting my app to know about the min GMAT score req. They said that the last years cut off was 630. So I decided to apply.

I submitted the application on 31st Dec. Will call maybe after a week or so if I didn't hear anything from them. What's your GMAT score btw?

I gave the GRE which they don't even consider. :cool: :x

To be competitive 700 is a must at Indian B-Schools.

With all due respect to stonecold, I would like to partially disagree. Indian b-schools, premier ones, in the past have admitted students from 650 onwards with exceptional profile and/or amazing extra-curricular activities.

Well that's disheartening to hear but it's actually true. They have a class avg of 680 though. But what's done is done. I can just wait and hope for the best.

Did you check with the office? They don't update the website frequently.

Since conversion format is available, I believe either should work here too.
