I'm a 2016 grad of the MTI program. If anybody has questions re: program or application process, feel free to reach out. I work about 2 blocks from TRSM and keep in generally close contact with a couple profs, recruiters, as well as careers advisors.
In terms of ROI, TRSM offers a bunch of scholarships in the $20k range, I tripled my salary with $0 cost (aside from the 16 months of full time study). Pretty good ROI!
Thx
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out. Could you please enlighten us about the career services available? Were all competitive students comfortably placed in job by graduation?
If you are a high achieving student, involved in extra curriculars, and a strong presenter (case competitions are a point of emphasis in the program...if you are good, Dale will make sure you get all the exposure you need, all on Ryerson bill). Check out the Economist Which MBA? case competition to see the kind of exposure you COULD get.
I'd say, if you're in the top...quartile of the class, you'll get a good job. There are contracts with Scotia and Bombardier...but the good jobs will be the ones you find yourself.
My cohort had 1 go to P&G, 1 to Bayer, 2 to Deloitte, 1 to PwC, and a ton to smaller consulting firms. I personally got my first post MBA job through my thesis supervisor (ex KPMG & Accenture partner), and have transitioned to channel strategy since then.
If you're an ok student looking for the letters, go to a different brand. If you have a unique story and strive for greatness, you'll do well there. You'll have opportunities to excel and find a great job, but only if you make every effort to own your future.
Andrea/Nicole/Wayne are SUPER helpful with regards to advice and interview prep, but they don't just hand you a job unless you're really exceptional. Like i said, top quartile will land very good jobs. It'll be tough for middle of the pack students.
