Hey Guys,

Just had a one on one Zoom Interaction with Admission Officer from IESE. Following debrief :

-Chit chat on COVID situation
-introductions of both the side
-Asked him questions on a career pivot and he well answered all my apprehension including details about the Career development service and how each memeber of CDS is a graduate of IESE
-Asked him on GRE vs GMAT and he said IESE directly converts GRE to GMAT. That was such a bummer.
- Asked him questions on profile review and he well answered with lots of tips.

Overall happy with the chat and considering applying there.

Hey team,

Just looking for a profile review as I'll be submitting my application sometime this week but would like your thoughts as well!

Background and nationality:
Canadian national, born and raised here. Currently living in Montreal, native English speaker but also speak good French. Played Varisty rugby for 4 years for my university in the BC Premiership, would've played semi-professional after university by my career was ended early due to having a back tumour (more on that below).

Undergrad Information: 3.1, Bachelor of Arts (History) with Minor in Business.
GMAT: 670 (Q 42, V 40).

Work experience and leadership: Will be matriculating with 4 years of experience, 3 of those years as a manager. After 10 months of my first job post-uni, I was promoted to our National Operations Manager, overseeing 16 staff across Canada & Hawaii (Beverage distribution organisation). Did that for a year, moved to Montreal, and I solely managed our Eastern Canada team. Huge reorganisation because of COVID, now I manage our supply chain network across Canada and relationships with our 3rd party distributors.

Community and others
After recovering from surgery, I started playing amateur rugby again. I also volunteer as a coach at our local club, but sadly due to COVID I wasnt able to do that.

Post MBA goals
Environmental/sustainability consulting. My current company is a B-Corp and is carbon negative, and are working with other companies on how they can lessen their carbon footprint. I'm very passionate about our environmental footprint in the world and want to help other companies lower their resource usage and make a large change on how the private business world affects our environment.

Anything else?: Low GPA for two reasons - first year I was in Astrophysics, and hated it. Didn't do well at all, around 2.5 GPA. Switched programs, really enjoyed my uni after and did well. Final semester of university, I was diagnosed with a benign tumour in my spinal cord which really through my studies up into the air! Should've deferred, but didn't. Finished final semester with a 3.4 average.

Hello to all IESE aspirants!

There is a duo of IESE students who are conducting interviews of folks starting their MBA programs in 2020. They are live on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrfsRdtSdM0NLwE9bF9XoiQ), LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/prepeazy/), Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/prep_eazy/ and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/PrepEazy/) under the name of PrepEazy. The interviews they conduct of matriculating students cover topics ranging from networking to fit and everything in between.

Their interview with two IESE 2022 students can be found here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1xQpdpNeUE

As someone who is headed to IESE this fall, I strongly urge all the people applying to IESE to watch this!

It will definitely help increase your understanding on the ethos of the school and could provide you clues on chiselling an IESE-focused strategy.

The guys at PrepEazy (and their network) will be more than happy to help you with a profile eval, if you need one!

Cheers!
A

P.S.: Do feel free to message me here or privately if you have any questions on IESE, Cornell, Ross, Georgetown, Marshall and ISB OR if you have any questions w.r.t. differentiating your application if you come from an over-represented group OR if you just want to bounce a few application ideas off somebody.

P.P.S.: I had some super helpful people on GMATclub guide me during my journey and I'm doing my best to pay it forward. :)

I don't recall any particular format being required.
I (class of 2021) personally wrote mine in word and attached them.
