Hey everyone!

Applied for R4, got interview and assessment day invite on May 11th, and immediately interviewed on May 12th. I though the interview went well, but I have an unconventional background so I'm not sure how to gage a b-school interview.

For some context on my profile, I'm Turkish-Canadian, coming from arts, GMAT 700 (Q42, V44).

I already received admission to ESADE and Bocconi and having trouble coordinating deadlines of admits with result of IESE.

I'm wondering if everyone else were invited to assessment days (I wasn't given a chance to choose a date, just put in June 5th), or if it is only for students they're not sure about.

I also didn't know about the Open Day on May 15th, and my recruitment officer didn't let me know either. I'm wondering if I should have known or if it's a negative that I wasn't invited. But also this Open Day was 3 days after my interview so I'm not sure.

Curios about everyone's experience and thoughts, since I'm super new to this circuit.

Fingers crossed!

miragem, congrats on your interview and assessment day! I can’t speak much on the deadlines. During R2, admissions did state several times that we could reach out to them if there were time sensitive issues. Regarding AD, I don’t believe an invitation to is indicative of them being unsure as 4/5 members of my AD group were admitted. Regarding Open Day, I don’t believe it’s relevant for you anymore and wouldn’t reflect in any way on your application. I think many people attended an Open Day prior to submitting their application. Hope this is helpful and good luck!

Not sure if my experience is valuable but just a data point.

I received the note about an Assessment Day in the same email that told me that they were interested in interviewing me. Scheduled my interview for earlier this week - felt like it was positive (a couple questions I was a little under-prepared for but am generally ok at winging my way through this stuff). Within 12 hours of my interview, I got an email saying they weren't requiring candidates from North America to attend Assessment Day since it would run at 5am where I am. It's not clear to me if the interview went well enough or poorly enough (*gulp*) that they didn't feel the need for me to attend the Assessment Day.

I have several years of investment banking experience and am a South East Asian national living in the US (went to school here as well).

I believe it may have been a blanket email to the North American candidates. I originally inquired if we needed to attend the entire session or it would be split up, since they did not describe the process, and given I am in CST I would likely need to be up 0330 for a 0400 start start time.

Yup - makes sense. I ended up receiving an acceptance call around noon today in the US for Round 4!

So just gave my IESE interview, they are really hard on the financing part of MBA.
