For 22 consecutive weeks (Weeks 1-22) of last year, the graph gives weekly ticket sales rankings for each of 4 movies (Movies M-P) when compared to all movies shown in theaters that week. Lower-numbered rankings indicate greater sales. If no data are given for a movie during a given week, the movie either was not yet or was no longer being shown in theaters. None of the 4 movies were shown in theaters during any week other than Weeks 1-22.

Select the options from the drop-down menus that create the most accurate statement based on the information provided.

For each  of the weeks that all 4 movies were shown in theaters , exactly  1  never had the least ticket sales among the 4 movies, and exactly  1  of the 4 movies never had the greatest ticket sales among the 4 movies.

• The graph shows the weekly ticket sales ranking for four movies, M, N, O, and P, from Week 1 to Week 22. 
• On the vertical axis are rankings. 
• A smaller ranking number (closer to the top of the graph) means higher ticket sales. 
• A larger ranking number (lower on the graph) means lower ticket sales. 
• If a movie has no point in a week, it was not shown that week. 
•  We only look at the weeks when all four movies appear on the graph at the same time : All four movies appear together from  Week 4 through Week 18 .

“Least ticket sales” means the movie with the worst rank among the four in that week.  On the graph, that is the movie whose point is lowest . We check which movies were never the lowest among the four in Weeks 4-18:

Movie O (the one with the solid black squares) is never the lowest on the graph. The solid black square is never below the symbols of the other three movies.

So exactly 1 movie (Movie O) never had the least ticket sales.

“Greatest ticket sales” means the movie with the best rank among the four in that week. On the graph, that is the movie whose point is highest (smallest ranking number). We check which movies were never the highest among the four.

Again, Movie O (the one with the solid black squares) is never the highest. The solid black square is never above the symbols of the other three movies.

So exactly 1 movie (Movie O) never had the greatest ticket sales.

One has to be very clear about the wordings. The most important words that can easily be missed out are 'For each of the weeks that all 4 movies were shown in theaters,'. So look for only these weeks when all four were being shown. Starting of that period: 3rd week when Movie M also comes on the screen. Ending of that period: 18th week, next week of which is when Movie O is no longer shown. Check for the lowest of all four movies each week...Movie O is lowest only in second week but only 3 movies were being shown then. 1 is the answer Check for the highest of all four movies each week...Again Movie O is never the highest. 1 is the answer GMAT-Club-Forum-fazuozi7.png

Graph itself looks messy and the wording adds another layer of difficulty, IMO hard question. Great question to solve and always be alert!

all 4 movies are shown from 4th through 18th week
and in this range (solid black square) movie O was never at the bottom position(least rank or minimum sales) and never at the top position(top rank or maximum sales)
hence correct choices  1,1

Ah I missed the "among the 4 movies part" and looked at the questions out of the full 22 weeks. Tricky!
