Can you please help me in finding the issue with the following statement.
InCorrect: The teacher suggested that the students come to class on time and complete their homework assignments regularly
Correct: The teacher suggested that the students come to class on time and that they complete their homework assignments regularly
I think the incorrect one as marked about is correct, since connecting each parallel item with the root phrase we get the following:
The teacher suggested that the students come to class on time.
The teacher suggested that the students complete their homework assignments regularly.
Where as for the correct option:
The teacher suggested that the students come to class on time
and
The teacher suggested that they complete their homework assignments regularly --> Pronoun error.
Can some one please help me with the above.
