Hi ArghaDatta11[/url] ! Your profile has strong academic credentials, with a 9.2/10 CGPA in a BBA and nice 10th and 12th-grade scores. However, gaining admission to HEC Paris, ESSEC, and ESCP for their MiM (and MiF at HEC) will require a competitive GMAT/GRE score, ideally 720+ GMAT or 325+ GRE. Yes, HEC Paris's Master in Management (MiM) program offers the opportunity to specialize in finance. In the second year (M2) of the MiM, students can choose the International Finance Specialization, which builds upon foundational knowledge acquired during the first year, focusing on advanced topics in finance, economics, and accounting. You can check more details here: .
You’ll need strong finance-related internships, extracurriculars, or certifications (such as CFA Level 1 or FRM) to demonstrate your commitment to the field. HEC Paris provides opportunities to engage with finance-related clubs, case competitions, networking events with top investment banks and consulting firms, and internships, which can strengthen your career prospects in the financial sector. If you lack practical finance experience, securing internships in investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting should be a priority. All 3 Schools require a well-rounded profile. To maximize your chances, focus on achieving a strong GMAT/GRE score, gaining relevant finance experience, and crafting a compelling application narrative. We would love to learn more about your profile in detail, if you'd like, please feel free to

I have done some PR related internships and did two courses in finance, I have done mentorship in teaching finance to underprivileged kids and in my school as well. I was the co head of my finance club and I did an online internship of SMMA. My scores in Gmat are 700s touching, will be a disadvantage for me or not?

Hello ArghaDatta11,

With the existing GMAT score, you should be ok with ESCP and ESSEC. HEC Paris may be a bit of a Stretch.

All the best!

Hi,

Yes, you can specialize in Finance in the HEC Paris MiM program. HEC offers a Finance Specialization in the second year, where you can choose between:
  1. Corporate Finance (for investment banking, M&A, financial strategy roles)
  2. Capital Markets (for trading, asset management, risk management roles)
You can also apply for the highly competitive "Business Track" at HEC Paris x École Polytechnique" if you're interested in Quantitative Finance.
Your Profile & Admission Chances:
✅ Strong Academics – Your 9.2/10 CGPA in BBA is excellent.
🚀 GMAT/GRE is Crucial – Aim for GMAT 700+ or GRE 320+ to stay competitive.
🔍 Internships & Extracurriculars Matter – HEC looks for leadership and work experience.

Next Steps to Improve Chances:
  • Strong GMAT/GRE Score (700+ GMAT or 320+ GRE)
  • Finance-related internships & certifications
  • Excellent Essays & LORs (Highlight leadership, finance interest, and impact)
  • Networking with Alumni (Attending HEC Paris events or webinars)
You have a solid academic base, but your GMAT/GRE, internships, and essays will play a major role.
