Quant success is about maximizing efficiency, not raw computational power.
- The "Two-Minute Drill": Practice working through problems to find the most efficient solution method within two minutes. If a solution takes three minutes of heavy calculation, there is likely a simpler algebraic shortcut or property you missed.
- Alternative Solving Techniques: Become adept at using Test Cases/Plugging in Numbers (especially for unknowns in the answer choices) and Backsolving (working backward from the answers) to bypass complex algebra.
- Data Sufficiency (DS) Mastery: DS tests logic, not solving. Never actually solve for the final value unless necessary.
- Mantra: Focus on Sufficient/Not Sufficient.
- Strategy: Evaluate Statement (1) alone. Cover it up, then evaluate Statement (2) alone. Finally, combine them only if (1) and (2) were insufficient separately.
- Key Quant Sections: Dedicated deep dives on Number Properties (divisibility, odds/evens, primes) and Work/Rate Problems are critical, as these are frequent trap areas.
