I love to help out the community. While I don't volunteer for activities often, I regularly donate to charity. I also like to play poker. I combine these two activities by playing in charity poker tournaments in which I get to play poker and part of my buy-in amount goes to charity.

Is this ok to write in the essay? Can I write about more than one activities in it?

Honestly, I don't think donating money to charity makes for compelling essay material. How does that separate you from the millions of others that do that? Also, keep in mind that some people may still have a negative view of poker. If it's an important enough part of who you are, then go with it, but just be mindful that you may be taking a calculated risk.

If you said your passion was poker and you donated all of your profits to charity - then I would think it was a very unique passion. However, I do not buy the part of my winnings go to charity aspect of it -- totally dilutes the message and the impact of the passion. Also, schools want to see that you will use your passion for the benefit of others in your program, so think of this when you write this essay.
