Hello All:
I've just been admitted to a top 20 international BS and I'm really excited about going!
My background is extremely non-traditional. I started off as a humanitarian worker and got disillusioned quickly!
I want to work for a PE firm that focuses on sub-Saharan Africa. However, when I look at the CVs of many of the people there, nearly all of them have extensive investment experience. I am only interesting in PE in terms of working in sub-Saharan and other frontier/emerging markets. The region is my pull; however, I would do traditional investment in order to make that move.
I know my end game -- PE in West Africa, I just need more direction on how to get there. My goal is to work at one of the firms associated with the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA)
THANKS!!
