Hi
The Cambridge MBA recommendation form has a question that asks what Peer Group are you using?
Can someone please explain what that means?
Thank You
When they are asking for a peer group in a recommendation, the adcom wants to know who/what is the group your manager is comparing you with. Give some details about their qualifications (example : engineers with 10+ years' experience), their positions and numbers (example: of the XXX engineers I have led in X years.....).
Another thing you should consider here is making a comparison with a peer group that has the skills set your manager is recommending you for. So for example, if he is recommending you for your finance skills, a comparison with accountants, actuaries, CFAs etc. who are known to have exceptional quant and analytical skills will be relevant.
