Dear consultants / students / applicants,
please forgive my ignorance and advise in case you have faced similar situation or probably aware about it.
The situation is: I filed a package of docs for EMBA programme at LBS at the beginning of October, then had an interview with AdCom soon. Within next couple of days (after the interview) I received a response from the AdCom that their decision re. my candidacy was pending due to the fact that they wanted to calibrate / benchmark me vs. similar applicants, and I would be provided with updates in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks again I received a response that "still pending, will be able to give some more info in 2 weeks" so on. Finally, I received a response just yesterday again saying that they would be able to provide a final decision at the beginning of January (just FYI - the programme starts in Jan'15).
My background is - Iam 33, 7 years in big 4, 3 years at a managerial position in top-10 US companies (eastern Europe sub).
For me still there is a high level of uncertainty, please advise what do you think. I am really committed to study there, however, now started to be a bit concerned about this situation because I would really like to have more information (not only because I am going to invest my own money to a right place with potential high level of return), but generally to organize my life. How do you think, guys, is it a normal situation that you are pending for so long time and are provided with a very generic reason / explanation for it?
I called to AdCom twice, received again the same response (word-to-word the same as it had been written in the e-mail), nothing more.

Indeed this is quite a troubling situation. I can understand that you must be waiting for students. As far as LBS is concerned, majority of the applicants that are interviewed are accepted into the program. So as far as probability goes, there is a very good chance that you may get selected. However, if you are indeed unfortunate, there is no way to know until January. I would advise you to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. While you are waiting, you might want to consider other options in the event that you are not selected. If you are considering applying to other programs, I would suggest that you start preparing your applications for them. If you get in LBS, no problem, but if you dont, you would have saved a lot of time and would be better prepared to face the situation.

How do you think should I drop e-mails / call them or just wait and relax thinking about backup plan if not accepted.
