Hi I'm a 25 year old white male from NYC. I'm a CPA who did roughly 2 years Big 4 auditing and has spent the last two years in financial services/insurance broking internal audit for a fortune 200 company. I travel extensively for my company, performing audits in multiple foreign countries.
I scored 720 GMAT (Q47 V41 IR 8)on my first attempt last week. I am considering retaking as I feel I can hit 750. My main motivation in scoring higher is the hope that it will land me a large scholarship at a top 20 mba program. Is this likely?
My extra curriculars are a bit weak. I play rec sports and was in a leadership role in a fraternity in college.
I attended seton hall university on a full scholarship (SAT 99th percentile) for undergrad. (3.4 GPA, accounting degree)
My target schools are pretty much anything top 20 that would give me a large scholarship. Duke seems to give out a decent amount.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there,
Well to start off things seem pretty good. I mean, you have what seem to be two good solid jobs, a very good GMAT, you went to school on a full scholarship (even if it's not an ivy league UG). I think what also will help is that your goals are reasonable - Top 20 with scholarship.
Now if money is an issue (meaning you really need that scholarship) then I'd say apply to more of the 10-20 schools than the 1-10 schools (Although yes, you should also apply to some). Your chances of getting money will be higher with your profile.
As for retaking the GMAT. Honestly, it's not thaaaat necessary, although if you are relatively sure of being able to get 30 points higher, it's probably worthwhile for you to make the attempt.
Best,
