Personal funds shown zero in I20 form

Question

I was fortunate enough to receive a full tuition scholarship in a T20 mba program. Since the tuition scholarship amount is greater than the entire tuition + living expenses in I20 form. It shows scholarship amount = 75k and personal funds as zero. Will this cause any issue for the visa as technically I still have to pay for my living expenses.

Congrats on the scholarship! As long as your I-20 shows sufficient funding to cover total expenses and your scholarship exceeds tuition plus estimated living costs, it shouldn't be an issue. You can explain during the visa interview that your personal funds aren't listed because the scholarship covers everything

Kanjan , yes, this is weird... how is that even possible? Is that because the I20 is per year and scholarship is for 2 years?

I would figure it out before you go to the embassy (you have plenty of time) and straighten out the I20 as you don't want to apply for a visa and get approved with a faulty one if they made a mistake. You will have to restart the whole process if they reissue it.

Thanks for the reply!, the total cost of attending is around 75k (tuition) + 40k (living + other expenses) as per website. Since the tuition fee covered by scholarship is upto 80k per year and the total tuition fee + living expenses in I20 is around 75k. Leads to personal funds of 0 in the i20.
