Hi everyone, this one is little off topic, but I guess many must have think about it in the past....

Why people don't use their real name on this forum, Does college review applicants profile on this site prior confirming admission or is there any other reason behind this?

I guess you will find answer to that on google or search option available on this forum.

Well.... most people these days prefer not to reveal their identities for a number of reasons but besides the obvious ones (which you should always have some level of privacy), here are a few other reasons why: 1. Yes, schools, classmates, co-workers, or background check companies can and will google you. If you use your real name instead of Gmatprep550 for example, those results will come up. That may be an unwanted surprise if you are not telling your co-workers or your boss that you are thinking applying for the MBA for example. 2. Sometimes you can tell a lot more to a complete stranger than to a person you know well. If your identity is hidden, you can be a stranger

3. Sometimes people try to conceal their gender (55% of GMAT Club users are women but some of them may not want to be annoyed by immature guys). Thx. BB
