Hi,

This is my first post. I wanted to ask about applying to schools within the US for a PhD in Business with a concentration in Accounting.

Here are a few details about me:
Graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor's in Accounting (GPA 3.87)
Graduated from Florida International University with a Master's in Accounting (GPA 4.0)
Recently passed my GMAT with a score of 660 (Quant 45, Verbal 36, Integrated Rea. 5)
Worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for 1 year as an Auditor.
No Research Experience
Currently not working, as I try to prepare applications.

Schools I plan on applying to:
Florida International University
Florida State University
University of Miami
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill

I want to apply for the Fall of 2016 term. I plan to study Empirical Financial Accounting Research. Questions:

What school(s) can I apply to with a decent program in Empirical Financial Accounting Research?

What should I do to improve my application? (I have about 6 months before the first applications should be submitted for scholarship and fellowship opportunities)
