Hello everyone,
I am a student at MS Management Sciences, Pakistan with a major in Marketing. I will be graduating next year in July 2018.
I am planning to apply in PhD program at SSE, Starting in December 2017, with a focus on research. I have few questions regarding pre-application process. GMAT or GRE test is mandatory? If so, then which one is mandatory?
I need SOP (Statement of Purpose 1000 words) for my application process I need help from you guys. "Give a brief introduction to yourself and state what has stimulated your interest in pursuing a PhD. Discuss also why you have chosen SSE specifically as well as what your longer term career plans are."
I have explored your department’s PhD Program website in detail, and it seems like an excellent fit for me because of its emphasis on consumer behaviour and retail but I still have a few specific questions about my research area that I’d like to talk to SSE professor about.

Well, unless we are talking about different programs, it doesn't look like you have really explored their website in detail, because they inform that "Although we do not formally require it, all applicants are highly recommended to take either the GMAT (institution code MFV-98-51) or GRE test (institution code 7016)."
About SOP, why do you say "it seems like an excellent fit"? Research on consumer behavior and retail is pretty common in most Marketing PhD programs, so if that's your reason, almost any school with a Marketing PhD would be an excellent fit. It is too vague and generic. You should be able to show how SSE would be better for you compared to other universities, and vice-versa.
