Hi,
I am an Indian male, as usual stuck in IT, even after my MBA from an IIM.
Profile -
B.Tech Comp Sc & Engg (West Bengal University of Technology 8.26/10)followed by 4 yrs of experience as a developer in an Indian IT major.
Then did a full time PGP from IIM Indore (GPA 2.76/4.33 ) and for little more than one year in an IT Business analyst role in a manufacturing MNC. During my MBA, I received french govt's intl scholarship for my exchange studies in France. Apart from that extra curricular is not much.
I want to go for a global career - might not necessarily limited to academics but in industry ( researcher in consulting sector, may be) as well and I am passionate about decision science. I particularly relate to it for my computer science background and final year engineering project in artificial intelligence.
I took GMAT once, almost 4.5 yr back without much preparation and got 640, hope to get 700+ in next attempt. And I am 30. I could not find much discussion on decision science here.
It will be great if members of the forum can suggest some good school with a PhD concentration in decision science and my chances there. I know Duke is one of them but most of the good schools prefer younger candidates.
Also please suggest instead of a PhD, a second MBA with concentration in decision science will be a good idea or not career prospect wise.
One more thing, can my spouse work in US when in dependent student visa?
