Hi, I would really appreciate a profile evaluation
I am applying for the 2019 PhD intake. University choices: London Business School PhD in Marketing, Imperial College Business School, Phd in Marketing, University of Cambridge, DPhil Management (Marketing), University of Oxford PhD Marketing
Background: age 24, Slovak female
BSc with First Class honors, finished top of the class in both second and third year of my studies at Queen Mary, University of London -- Business and Management. Won a prize for the best dissertation, and two other prizes (one for mathematical excellence, second one for finishing top of class in the second year)
MSc with Distinction, finished second in the class at Imperial College Business School - Strategic Marketing, won a deans award for excellence. Won a scholarship (2 out of the approx 200 members of the faculty did so).
Finishing my LLB - GDL with distinction, two more modules for the LLB
I was active part in university societies, helped with the establishment of a society - Women in Business. I was also one of the main organizers of the first student led conference at Imperial College Business School.
I won a mentorship award (for the best student mentor), I was mentoring first year students in my third year of my bachelors degree. Mentorship included helping them understand harder economics and statistical topics, explaining concepts to them, as well as helping them adjust into university, strategies for meeting deadlines, looking through essay plans, reviewing job applications, etc.
Work experience: internships in the field of marketing, currently working as a Marketing Director of a company, aiming to establish my own business and work on multiple projects, in the process of company registration. I have clients lined up. Nature of work: marketing consultancy
I fluently speak 4 languages (Slovak, Hungarian, Czech, English), intermediate in Spanish and German -- I don't know how much these will matter for the application itself.
Aiming to publish my dissertation in an academic journal before I apply. Also aiming to find a part time research assistant job in the UK.
GMAT 710 (Q49, V39, AWA 6.0, IR3-this IR score concerns me a lot, I scored 7-8 in all my practice tests). Average GMAT score for my top choices is 700-710 so I feel there shouldn't be a problem with the overall score.
My long term aim is to do academic research and be a professor of marketing. In the meantime, I would like to continue the consultancy work.
Thank you in advance for the profile evaluation.
