Hi omavsp,

I suspect that GMAC's Moderators would expect to see a standard double-sided white board (re: one that you can take notes on - and erase - both sides of). It's certainly possible that the Moderator will allow the item that you've shown, but those people are looking for 'abnormalities' in your testing space (and that specific item is probably not something that they are used to seeing - so they might not allow it).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Mine also has a backside of carton. Any news whether this poses a problem?

I can see Rich's point about the cardboard being a risky surface that a proctor may not want to deal with just in case you end up writing something on it... not erasable.
At the same time, I have NEVER heard of a whiteboard being declined, denied, rejected, etc. Never. So I would venture out to guess that as long as you don't have any writing on the back side, the proctor won't call it out. At the same time, that is one cheap whiteboard and if you have the time, perhaps makes sense to get something more sturdy that won't just bend and fold during the test if you lean it on the keyboard/etc.

Alternative solution - get 2 of these babies and glue them together

Yeah, its cheap but I like it and am used to it. I think its easier to erase everything from one question to the next than to flip the board so I feel no need for a doublesided one. We'll see what happens. =)

Again, I have not heard of issues of a test being canceled due to the whiteboard concern. Which even if that does happened in your super rare circumstance, you’re not losing any money, it’s just a hassle to reschedule.

However, thinking about other white boards that have a wood back for example. What is the difference between cardboard and wood? I feel both are generally made from the same material and it’s just the density of wood is a lot less in cardboard 😇

So I think you should be fine. At the same time there’s no reason to be adding stress to an already stressful environment…. 😉

Thanks for the support! According to what I saw on the screen, I sort of got the score I wanted. But it doesnt feel good not having any proof of it. In a test center, at least you get a printed copy of the unofficial score. I will post my debrief later on. Quite exhausted right now.
