Hi All,
Recently, I wrote GMAT and scored 650 (Quant - 49, Verbal - 30). Honestly, I don't think that it's a bad score but somewhere, in my heart, I know that it's not good either.
I have an average IT Engineer profile.
Experience - 4 years
One of my friend has suggested that I should re-take the exam. Probably, after a month.
I think, I'll take the GMAT date somewhere around Nov, 30th 2011.
I came across this forum while searching for some GMAT strategies.
I am pretty decent in maths - scored 49 in GMAT. I believe I need to put in lot of efforts for verbal part.
I request the moderators and mentors, present in this forum, to help me in working out a foolproof strategy.

First off: There is no "fool proof strategy".
Do you know what parts of verbal kept your score at a 30? Do you have any issues with timing?

Indeed you sound a lot like this GMAT student who almost aced the Quant section the first time but still was in the high 600s because of a weak verbal score.
There's no perfect strategy as mentioned above. Everybody has a different style of learning. It turns out this student Kang Cao was, like you, a quant-oriented person and his score reflected that. He was waitlisted for this very reason. The admissions committee told him to retake his GMAT. In this situation when you have clear room for improvement in one section, you should consider retaking. For Kang, this was a huge improvement. Of course, he definitely put in the effort to absorb and learn a new way of thinking. If you can put yourself in the same quest for a more balanced score, it wouldn't be impossible for you to improve your score a decent amount.
Focus on reducing the amount of time you spend on SC so you can spend more time on RC and CR.
