Hi all,
I just gave my first official attempt today and scored (unofficial score) 655 with Q81/V85/D84 ~(Q76%,V96%,D94%). I am slightly disappointed as I was targeting 685 and above.
Some background info: spent the past 1.5 months preparing for this and have completed all 12 official practice mocks.
Here are my stats for them by DD/MM/YY (earliest to latest arranged from top to bottom):
1. 12/12/24 - 635 (Q82/V81/D81) - Mock 1 (1st attempt)
2. 05/01/25 - 645 (Q80/V81/D84) - Mock 2 (1st attempt)
3. 12/01/25 - 615 (Q79/V86/D76) - Mock 3 (1st attempt)
4. 25/01/25 - 605 (Q80/V80/D80) - Mock 4 (1st attempt)
5. 26/01/25 - 645 (Q78/V83/D85) - Mock 5 (1st attempt)
6. 27/01/25 - 605 (Q77/V83/D80) - Mock 6 (1st attempt)
7. 28/01/25 - 615 (Q80/V83/D78) - Mock 1 (2nd attempt)
8. 29/01/25 - 705 (Q83/V82/D90) - Mock 2 (2nd attempt)
9. 30/01/25 - 655 (Q82/V83/D83) - Mock 3 (2nd attempt)
10. 31/01/25 - 655 (Q81/V82/D85) - Mock 4 (2nd attempt)
11. 01/01/25 - 685 (Q84/V87/D81) - Mock 5 (2nd attempt)
12. 02/01/25 - 675 (Q86/V84/D81) - Mock 6 (2nd attempt)
During the official exam, I felt quant was a lot more difficult than anything I had attempted on the practice mocks. There were seemingly questions that required lengthy calculations and concepts that I was unfamiliar with. Towards the end of the section, I had only around ~1.2 min for the last 6 questions.
For verbal and DI sections, I was pretty comfortable and could complete the questions with relative confidence, also having slightly more than a minute of spare time at the end (not really useful for reviewing any previous questions, to be honest).
I plan to retake my 2nd attempt in 3-4 weeks time. My plan will be to solely focus on quant seeing that I am lacking in this section.
Leading up to this, does anyone have any advice on how I can brush up on my quant? Also, since I have already exhausted all my fresh practice mock attempts, any tips on how to get additional exam-like practice? (Do I repurchase and re-attempt them?)
Genuine tips and advice are seriously appreciated, thanks in advance!
