Because Platonic University has had difficulty in meeting its expenses over the past three years, the governing body of the university must find new ways to increase revenues. Can anyone expand on why the answer is C?
I figured it could not be D because while surely each of the buildings are already named by one or more distinguished alumnus, the university is considering  renaming  the school/buildings to the highest donors. I couldn't extract from the stimulus that the distinguished donors are/are not currently the highest donors and that there could/couldn't be other donors who could donate even more than donors of previously named buildings

Since the buildings are already named after distinguished alumni, we can presume that alumnus have already donated to have these buildings named after them. Since this proposed action plan has already been done, that money has already been raised and will not help the university further.

B. The university holds vast tracts of land outside the city where leasing arable lands out to big farming companies earns good money. - Irrelevant as it provides solution on how to increase the revenue

C. Each building on campus is named after one or more distinguished alumnus of the university.
correct answer- as it implies that most of the buildings are named after alumnus who donated?

D. The alumni donate a handsome amount every year. - strengthens as every year the buildings are named after donor who has donated the maximum amount

E. The university is eligible for grants from the federal governments.- though the govt funds the university - here it could only fund for the educational services so irrelevant.
