The main thing you can do to improve your chances is to invest a lot of time and energy into your application essays.

You'll want to spend time first of all brainstorming and developing your story-- coming up with examples of when you've shown leadership, teamwork, analytical skills, people management skills, project management, times you've faced a challenging situation. Brainstorm how you will discuss and describe your short and long term post-MBA goals, how you plan to use the HBS degree, and exactly what HBS is the right program for you (with specific reasons). Brainstorm about what you bring to the program that is unique and how you want to be remembered by the admissions committee.

Spend time on all of the above in the coming month or so. Work on your drafts for your application and spend time editing and improving. Have several people read your application, including someone who knows you well, someone who doesn't know you at all, and someone who knows business schools well. If you are interested, consider getting a professional admissions consultant to provide feedback. (Side note-- we do offer a free 30 minute initial consult as well if you'd like to get a conversation going with a consultant about your profile, if so see https://www.mbamission.com/consult.php.)

Work on your resume and recommendations as well.

At this point, beyond taking on a new community involvement activity or project, the main things you can do are invest your time and effort into that application and the essays in particular-- the essays are the one component on the application that you create from SCRATCH to represent who you are, and they can make or break an application.
