Hi Expert,

I took my GMAT exam yesterday and got a score of 690 - Verbal 33 and Quant 50.

Wanted to seek your advice in terms of how should I be proceeding forward with my application process.

I am an IT professional carrying more than 12 years experience and I am currently working as Senior Manager with a reputed organisation.

I have rich technology experience in SAP and have worked on various national and international projects spanning across various industries. Have travelled onsite multiple times for official reasons.

I am working as India SME for my organisation, have been an outstanding performer all throughout, carry quite strong academic experience, have always been a student of merit(>80%) all throughout my academic career.

I have participated in multiple extra curricular activities like singing, participating in debates etc during my school and college days. I had last pursued MCA in year 2005.

Kindly let me know if I stand a chance of getting through colleges of my choice - IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, Nanyang Business School, Singapore.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks!!
Swati

Hi Swati - thank you for writing! It looks like you have some strong work experience. For full-time MBA programs, one thing to be aware of is that on average, students generally have about 3-7 years of experience. Though certainly not unheard of, it can be a challenge to apply with 12 years of experience - you'll have to make a very strong case for why NOW is the right time for you to get an MBA. One important question is - what do you hope to do post-MBA? The programs will want to understand your desired path (and the motivations behind it) and how the program's offerings will help you achieve your goals. IIM and ISB have a GMAT average of about 720, so those may be a slight stretch but they aren't out of range; Nanyang and Singapore are a bit less competitive.

I hope that helps a bit - let me know of any other questions! :-)
