Profile: Looking for a career transition into technology and would like to go to a top 20 US school
29yo, white European from London.
GMAT: yet to be taken but targeting a 700
GPA: 4.0 in undergraduate degree. Also have a masters in management degree from UCL.
Work experience 5 years. 3 of those at a global financial services management consultancy firm (5000+ employees). Have worked on projects throughout for Tier 1 investment bank. 2 promotions and strong performer with many additional extra-curricular work to support wider firm.
Extra curricular: mentor young students from low income families to develop skills and confidence to succeed
Any thoughts/guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks

Sounds like top 20 will be reach based on what you shared although a lot will depend on the specifics of your work experience (impact you've had, results you've driven), your goals, how prestigious your undergrad institution was, and that GMAT score. You want to at least hit a school's average school and ideally you want to exceed it.
You are on the upper end in terms of age, which can raise concerns that you no longer need the degree, so you'll definitely want to work on a strong "why MBA" argument (the skill gaps you need to fill) & that rests on your goals.
