Hello and thanks for your post.
Admissions committees will look at your stats, your work experience (and goals), and your extracurriculars.
In terms of stats, you have a strong GMAT so that is a good start. It is at least the average, if not above, for most of your target schools. That will partially compensate for your GPA which is a bit lower than the average. So depending on other factors, it may make sense to consider a supplemental course, in order to show you have the quantitative ability to succeed in the classroom.
Regarding your work experience, you have a solid number of years (4.5), and it sounds like you have been given a lot of responsibility. I would like to hear more about your accomplishments though, in order to better gauge how your work experience compares to other candidates. In your resume and essays, make sure to discuss the impact you have had at work. As for your goals, I do think consulting or banking could make sense, but you’ll have to really illustrate your transferable skills to show you could succeed in one of those roles. And definitely be specific as to which goal you choose and why. This is a topic I tend to spend a lot of time on with my clients, so I am glad you are taking your goals seriously.
And lastly, regarding your extracurriculars, I like that you have competed in boxing, though I would like to hear about other activities you have done, as well as the type of person you are – in order to help stand out among all applicants.
I would be happy to provide you more detail on your profile if you would like a free consultation. Feel free to email me at
michael@mbamission.com and we can schedule a time.
Either way, I wish you the best of luck!
