Hey there,
You have a fairly impressive profile, with a pretty good GMAT and CGPA scores. Doing additional certifications is a great way of showcasing your focussed interest towards the SCM.
A 6.5 year work-experience in supply chain management is also an application asset. If it is with a globally renowned brand, it will give you a competitive edge.
A master’s degree certainly adds weightage to your application, although you have to explain why you felt the need to pursue a second master’s degree.
Considering that you have work experience of 6+ years, some of the extra-curriculars might look old on your resume. Focus on the impact you created through your co-curricular activities in the last 4 years.

With your profile, you have a fairly good shot at most of the B-Schools offering SCM programs. You can check out this link for a comprehensive list of B-Schools offering SCM programs :https://www.masterstudies.com/Masters-Degree/Supply-Chain-Management/

You can take up our FREE PROFILE EVALUATION to get a realistic idea of your chances in your target schools.

Thanks Abhyank for your feedback.

Please evaluate my profile and provide some feedback.

GMAT Score - 710 ( Q 49, V 36, IR 7, AWA 5 )
Indian Male, 30
Work Exp - 6.5 Years in Middle-east as a Supply Chain Professional
Industry - FMCG & Food Product
Post Graduate in Industrial Management with CGPA of 8.2/10
Graduate in Electronics Engg with CGPA of 3.75/5

Completed more than a dozen of certifications on Supply Chain Management, including APICS CPIM, ASQ, Six Sigma etc.

Have moderate extra curriculum points including 6 years of NCC & also done some charities including financing the studies of an orphan.

Want to do Masters in Supply Chain Management.

Hi Dipankar,

Just wondering if you thought about an MBA instead. You already have a graduate technical degree. An MBA will have courses in Operations and supply chain management, but will also teach you other business subjects, which will add value to you as you move up the ladder towards leadership roles.

If you stay in the Middle east, you could also consider the exec MBA options of LBS (Dubai) and INSEAD (Abu Dhabi).

Thanks Namita for highlighting that but my long term plan is to get a PhD and go for hardcore consultancy as a career option, plus I am quite passionate about supply chain management.

Will be very much grateful if you can share your opinion on this. :-)

Regards,
Dipankar

Dipankar,

Fair enough about being passionate about SCM. An MS will make sense.

PhD and consulting are not dependent upon each other - if your ultimate aim is to get into consulting, you should take steps towards that- an Ms or an MBA, both will help in that direction.

PhD will help if you want to do research. You don't need it to get into consulting. Moreover, breaking into consulting industry will be more difficult the older you get, unless you are talking about supply chain specific consulting companies.
