Hi All
My Name is Rohit Sharma. I have a 4 yrs of Work exp as a Business Analyst( Insurance Domain) in IT MNC. I have appeared GMAT thrice and here are my scores -
First attempt - Nov 2009 - GMAT score = 530
Second attempt - Nov 2011 - GMAT score = 630
Third attempt - Jan 2012 - GMAT score = 590.
Again I am thinking of taking GMAT this year near August . I am pretty much confident in Quant but its verbal which is not helping my cayse. I think if i work hard i can reach to 49-50 in Quant but for verbal i do not know how to go further. Please guide me how to excel in verbal section. I really want to touch 700 this time and for that I need to excel in Verbal. I am totally clueless regarding verbal section. Please guys guide me how to win this battle against GMAT.

Hi Rohit,
Verbal is conquerable but it can take a bit of time. Along with GMAT work I would focus on improving your general reading. Read an economist article (or two) every day. Focus on 100% comprehension. Think about the authors point of you, the main point, the facts, the conclusion, the assumptions, and the sentence structures. Look up words that you do not know. Take your time with these articles. This reading will translate to improvement in the entire verbal section. Again, it will take time but improving the speed and comprehension with which you read is a great way to boost verbal.
