Hey all....been on my GMAT journey since late April, and have come a long way thus far, but not far enough. My first practice CAT, with Kaplan, back in April was a 500.
From April to late June I was doing pretty broad type studying, nothing too specific other than going through Kaplan's book and Knewton online course, and got a 640 on my first GMAT take in late June, with a 6/6 on AWA and 5.5 IR. Breakdown of that was a 43 Q and 34 V. In getting this score, I did not touch any of the
OG questions.
Now, I have been doing more focused studying since early July, going through the
OG questions, keeping an
error log, and figuring out what I am terrible at, relative to other sections, in Quant mostly advanced geometry / distance problems / crazy algebra word problems (which I find from
MGMAT are borderline impossible!)
Past two weeks, I have taken two practice CATs since early July, both
MGMAT, and received a 650 (41 Q and 38 V) and today a 660 (42 Q and 38 V). I would like to note that on the quant, I was consistently in the 700-800 range up until I literally got 6 in a row wrong around the 20's range. I just find that the
MGMAT algebra word problems destroy me!
Anyways, I am not sure how I would do on the actual GMAT since these are
MGMAT CATS, but I see this as me being at a 660 still. Does anyone have any advice on how to tackle the Quant a little better? I have went through each
MGMAT guide, and have been going with a tutor to hone in on individual math concepts, but I just want to make sure that I am on the right track ? Or does anyone have any advice in particular? I am shooting for a 720 on the actual GMAT...
I appreciate any input....
