1/9 is Correct...

Area PQR = (base x height)/2 = (4x4)/2 = 8

Area LMN - (base x height)/2 = (12x12)/2 = 72

Ratio = Area PQR/Area LMN = 8/72 = 1/9

it is simple the area of LMN=1/2*(12*12)=72
the area of PQR=1/2*(6*4)=12
LMN/PQR=72/12=1/6
C it is

Shouldn't that be 1/2*(4*4)

1/9

Small triangle = 0.5[4*4] = 8
Large triangle = 0.5 [12][12] = 72

8/72 = 1/9

Height of PQR = 4 (y co-ordinate is 4)
Base of PQR = 4 (x2-x1)

Area of PQR = 4*4*1/2

Height of LMN = 12 (y co-ordinate is 12)
Base of LMN = 12 (x2-x1)

Area of LMN = 12*12*1/2

Fraction = (4*4*1/2)/(12*12*1/2)

= 1/9
