Hello everyone,
I'm currently an undergraduate student in a French university, but my whole bachelor is in English and I've done most of my education in english as well.
I've been training since September for the Gmat, hoping to take it on the 17th of December 2021.
However, as much as I allocate time for studying and work on my mistakes/weaknesses, there is not much progress that has been made and two weeks away from the test I did a practice test today and reached a 570.
I'm really sad because I did a lot of maths in high school and I've always been a good student (currently certified GPA prediction from my university of 4.0/4.0). I put a lot of effort in this, and to see such bad results crushes me every time and I don't know what to do anymore.
My bachelor's major is Economics so I wouldn't consider myself too bad at maths, but its mostly the test structure and logic that I have trouble dealing with. Quant however is the most challenging for me, when I practice I notice I can do some very hard problems really easily and intuitively, but I'm always stuck with easy problems. I practiced from Bunuel in gmat club by reviewing all the posts and concepts, I also bought and review the Official guides and trained from the pool of exercices. I also followed all of
Magoosh videos.
Per week I'm around 13-15 hours, depending on when i have a busy schedule due to university exams or midterms.
And for verbal mostly my mistakes are in Reading comprehension and Critical reasoning, as the more I go into the test the more I tire and make careless mistakes.
Here is the history of my practice tests:
- 1st: 07/09
result 420 and I forgot to keep track of the scaled scores
- 2nd: 25/09
result 530 and scaled scores of IR 3 (3/12 correct) ; Verbal 30 (20/36) ; Quant 33 (17/31)
-3rd : 16/10
result 570 and scaled scores of IR 8 (8/12) ; Verb 32 (24/36) ; Quant 36 (16/31)
-4th : 23/10
result 540 and scaled scores of IR 5 (7/12) ; Verb 34 (22/36) : Quant 32 (13/31)
-5th : today 29/11 (there is a big gap because I decided to go through once again all the concepts, watch videos on how to tackle some problems and change my mindset)
result 570 and scaled scores of IR 6 (7/12) ; Verb 34 (23/36) ; Quant 34 (18/31)
I understand that a last minute miracle jump of my scores is very unlikely. However I would like to at least be able to hit the 620-630 mark (although my original ambitions were around 650-680.
But with two weeks left I'm growing anxious and desperate, which overall is making my days very hard to go through and gmat constantly on my mind.
If anyone would be willing to give me any advice, or anything really, I would be very grateful.
Lo
