My intention of getting a MS in Finance is to switch career from engineering into finance.
Undergrad at a reputable Canadian University (I'm Canadian)
Major in civil engineering, minor in economics, option in management science.
Finished the first half of final year, still need to complete the second half.
GPA so far:
CGPA - 77.7%
Major GPA - 78.3%
GPA in 3rd and 4th year - 81.3%
Calc I 90%, Calc II 59%, Linear Algebra 74%, Adv. Calc (Calc III) 73%, Prob and Stat 76%, Differential Eqn 77%, Operations Research 80%, Intro Econometrics 84%, Intro Mathematical Econ 91%
Notable mention: a 63% in 3rd year macro econ.
GRE: Q790 V320
AWA TBA
LOR: unsure how my referee will rate me. Planning to get one referee from an engineering professor that supervised my research project, and one referee from my professor in investment management class. In addition, one referee from my boss at my internship place.
Two internship (co-op) positions held at a land developement doing project co-ordination type work. Business methods such as cost benefit analysis, mortgage leases financing break down, were utilized on the job.
I am interested in the following programs, and is wondering what are my chances of getting in.
Princeton MFin
UToronto MFinancial Economics
Carneige Mellon MS in Comp Finance
Columbia MA in Math Fin
NYU MS Math in Fin
Stanford MS in Fin Math
John Hopkins MS in Fin
