Hello Experts,
I am 39 years old , Female of Indian origin.
Education :
I have done my masters from Indian Institute of Bombay in Applied Mathematics with a GPA of 8.1 / 10 .I have always been ahead in all my academic undertakings and I particularly like mathematics.
Work Experience and background
I worked in the New York city, head office of one of the biggest Mutli National Banks for 6 years and then in Singapore for 2 years for the same company. My work was in the field of credit risk management and marketing analytics. And I was very well regarded my colleagues (and even won corporate awards for the same ) for my talent and skills related to both, content and communications.
Post that I have been working as a faculty ( Senior Lecturer) in one of the well known universities in Singapore. I teach courses to the masters and undergraduate students in areas of data analytics and there application in the industry using topics in advanced machine learning with the help of python and other tools.
At this point in time I am ready to take up another challenge in life and given that I am feeling really stagnated in my career, I am thinking of doing an MBA. I understand that one surely needs a GMAT score of over 700 to be considered by any good MBA institute. Other than that, I am not sure if my profile will be considered positively, given my age is above average. Also, am not sure if my experience in teaching will be evaluated negatively or positively.
I really appreciate your insights and guidance .

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately your age is going to make it nearly impossible to get into a full time MBA program. You are closer to the age of an executive MBA at this point (but you don't have the years of business experience or seniority for an executive MBA). Also unfortunately, schools don't really value teaching experience. They want applicants who have real world experience in the business world. Another key consideration is what exactly you would plan to do with the MBA. Your post-MBA goals need to be very specific; the adcom wants to know exactly what title you are going for in the ST & LT, your 2-3 target firms, what exactly you hope to accomplish in those roles and WHY those are your passion. Those goals form the basis for your why MBA/why our school argument & the skill gaps you say you need to fill in b-school in order to achieve them.
Given all of your experience, I think it will be tough to convince the adcom at this point that you still need the degree. They will assume you could find a good job without and MBA, and like I said, it won't be enough to say you feel like you just need a change in your career. You'll need to articulate the specific change you plan to make post-MBA.
I'd consider maybe working with a career coach instead to see what options might be available to you to make a career change without necessarily needing a grad degree!
