Question essentially is asking whether x is greater than or equal to y. Thus, if we find out if x is greater than y or if x equals y then we have got the answer.

stmt1: Since p and q are positive, this turns to x/y = 1 or x = y and this answers the question. Hence, sufficient.

stmt2: No information about p and hence, insufficient.

Hence, A should be the answer.

Hi,

1 suff. because the only solution is that x=y

2 not suff. let's suppose p=1, therefore, x=2/3 and y=3/2 or x=3/2 and y=2/3

A

OA?

Cheers
