Hello,
Granted that recruiting went well, do MC/IB firms offer an associate level position for candidates finishing up their MBA regardless of their experience during years between undergrad and MBA?
In other words, if I spent 3 years riding a donkey across Thailand instead of fiddling around with excel at JPM IB or making powerpoint slides at BCG MC as a college graduate, would I still be offered an associate position if i landed a job during recruiting?

Yes.
Though you would more likely than not have to do really well in your summer internship. There are way less firms going to take a risk on a person who has spent three years riding a donkey around Thailand.
Similar as ever, consultancy has a lot more jobs that can be considered useful and applicable to taking people on, so there may be some straight offers to associate in that sphere. For a bank, you would be pretty much a busted flush if you didn't do a summer at a bank.
