Hi Dauren,

First off, a 690 is a fantastic score (it's just a bit shy of the 90th percentile overall), so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

1) When did you take each of your 4 Official GMAT?
2) What were the scores for each (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

3) What is your goal score?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich,

Thanks for quick reply and encouragement. Just realized that I actually took 5:) Please find attached the score report and ESR of the most recent test for the first two questions.
3) Goal is 720 or higher
4 and 5) This year: R1: Insead, Columbia, not sure about R1 or R2 for HBS, Stanford

Hi Guys,

Recently retook GMAT (4th attempt) and got exactly the same score of 690 - will give it a last try.

Just got ESR report and have a question on how to map Quant Algebra and Geometry question types to GMAT Club tests. Coordinate Geometry/Geometry is one beast, Algebra is another. Wondering where combinatorics, probability etc are sitting. Any ideas?

Thanks

Best regards,
Dauren

Would you mind posting your ESR here ---> https://gmatclub.com/forum/information-on-new-gmat-esr-report-beta-221111.html
I am sure experts would review it. thanks!

Here's mine

Total Valued questions -- Verbal 30 & Quant 28

7/8 | 5/7 | 6/7 | 2/8 -- total 20/30 (66% questions correct) - V35

7/7 | 7/7 | 4/7 | 3/7 -- total 21/28 (75% questions correct) - Q48

You have done very well in both Q&V, but timing seems to be the issue because you are left with very less time in final quarters in both Q&V sections. Had you marked couple of questions correct in final quarters, you would have received the goal score -720. You need to cut down the timing in the middle without loosing on accuracy to at least get sufficient time for final questions.

Hi Dauren,

Your last 2 GMAT scores are essentially identical - and some of the other data points from the 5 exams are so similar that they prove how consistent you are in your thinking (and how you approach the Official Exam). While a 720+ isn't that far away from a 690, you will have to make some fundamental changes to how you approach the Exam in order to pick up those points. This is meant to say that if you continue to study "your way", you're far more likely to score 690 (or so) again than score 720+.

1) How have you scored on your last couple of practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Hi Dauren,

Since you've taken the Official GMAT 5 times, it stands to reason that you would have taken some practice CATs as part of your preparations for each attempt at the GMAT. At this point in your studies, are you taking NEW CATs (meaning CATs that you have never used before) or are you taking CATs that you've used as part of your prior studies? I ask because while retaking a CAT for general practice purposes is fine, the score results from any of those retakes will almost certainly be 'inflated' and unrealistic. In addition, the results likely won't accurately point out what you need to work on to improve.

Hi Rich,

Not really, I didn't use CATs to assess the performance but rather used them to find "sweet spot" in terms of skipping - apparently failed:)
2 of them were retakes from older tests (8+months), and one was new. Buying the exam pack
