Hello,
Can someone help me on the following triangle problem. I have read the solution, but it still doesn't make me better understand.
In the preceding figure, circle O has its
center at the origin. If E AOP = 30°,
what is the area of ∆OAB?

You're right.
But you say the triangle is 30-60-90=>AH =sqrt3*OA/2.
Where did you get this info, is it a property of that particular triangle? I tried to arrive to the same conclusion by using the pythagore theorem, without result. Then with trigonometry, but it shouldn't be the case for the GMAT...
In attachment, the answer of my Cliffs CAT book. They just say "in a triangle, the three corresponding sides are in the ratio 1, sqrt3 and 2". It is almost the same as your answer. But I cant figure out where this theorem comes from!
