Hi folks,
I have studied GMAT on and off for more than a year now but the progress is very little. I really need help with strategy to get a significant improvement.
My first official GMAT test was at Dec last year after 2 month of study. I started with 740 (Q49 V41 - exam condition) at GMAT Prep (Exam 1) after one month of studying (1/2 OG 2017,
MGMAT SC, CR and RC). Realizing that SC was my biggest weakness, I ordered e-gmat SC... after that my GMAT Prep scores dropped, mostly because of time management as I tried to figure out difficult SC questions. The next GMAT Prep (Exam 2) was 660 (Q49 V32) and Exam 3 650 (Q49 V30) (all exam condition).
I headed to the official GMAT when I finished 1/2 SC course of e-gmat and get a mere 680 (Q48 V34). I left 3-4 verbal questions at the end of the test because of bad time management.
After that I studied on and off for all most a year. Because of work, my studying was mostly at the weekend. During this time, I finished e-gmat SC course, all
MGMAT quant books, 15/26 GmatClub quant tests. I also studied from Aristotle SC and PowerScore Bible CR. I also finished all
Manhattan GMAT CAT (untimed) and 4/7 veritas CAT (timed) during this period.
My GMAT Prep CAT during this time was Exam 4 (Jun 2017) 710 (Q50 V35) and Exam 5 (August) 700 (Q50 V34).
I took the second GMAT official test after a night without sleep in August. The result was 650 so I cancelled the score. After that I was very very fed up with studying so the study before the third exam was very minimal. As far as I can remember, I restudied the
MGMAT SC book and did some OG questions for verbal. I also retook some GMAT Prep CATs.
The third GMAT official test happened in 05 Oct with the result of 710 (Q50 V35).
My latest GMAT official test was at 30 Nov. Before the test I retook the GMAT Prep exam 4 with the result 780 and did the GMAT Prep 6 (I did it one time before, in Sept, but the software crashed so I cannot review the result that time) and get 770 (Q50 V44). I also redid and reviewed my OG wrong answers during this time.
I got 710 (Q49 V36 IR8) in the latest official exam. As IR score improved from 5 and 4 last time so I didn't cancel the score. During this exam, I could barely take the break between verbal and quant (after I went out for 1 or 2 minute break after verbal section, when I came back, the administrator had already log in the quant screen). I did skipped several CR questions during the exam because of the lack of time.
As you can see, my improvement was very little since the first time in spite of my hard work so I do not know what I should do now. I really need your help, recommended strategy and course or even a private tutor.
