1500= 800 paintings and 700 others
700 others = 490 not twentieth-century and 210 twentieth-century
100% twentieth-century arts = 40% paintings and 60% others
Therefore 60% twentieth-century arts = 210
100% twentieth-century arts=(210/60) *100 = 350.
Hence B is the correct choice.

We can create a 2 * 2 matrix , put in the values and solve the question.
Once we put in the data, the 0.6x that represents not paintings equals to the difference of 700 and 490
0.6x = 210
x = 350
