Why did we not multiple 7c3 and 7c4 since the questions asks "AND"? and not "OR"?

There are 35 cases for the triangles and 35 cases for the quadrilaterals, but these are not linked to each other. It's not as if for each of the 35 cases of triangles, there are 35 cases of quadrilaterals. These are separate scenarios, so we add them, not multiply.
