Came across following at BW forums.. It's too similar to your profile, RR, so maybe you can apply to Wharton too. Post from swotavatpr.

The three schools were actually my top 3 choices. I had zero desire to go to HBS, it just had more negative feelings than positive...yes I know worlds greatest school but its just not for me. Wharton, not a fan of Philly and it also really didn't appeal to me. I read up on it but it didn't get me excited. The only school better than where I applied that had appeal was Stanford but there is such a small chance of getting in that it wasnt worth the effort and at this point I am more than happy with that decision.

Interesting how our comments on HBS and Wharton are similar, river. Same reasons I'm not applying to those two. Stanford I also agree, though because of where I live and what I want to do, I decided to give it a shot.

River,
Honestly, you resemble myself in multiple ways...you know right from your Job profile (in that it will be difficult to train your replacement and no scope for vertical movement in the short run and the support you got from your boss) to the choice of schools and the reasons for not applying to HSW.....Only if I could replicate your success at Kellogg and hopefully GSB.....we could potentially end up as class mates....

Looking at admissions411 to get an idea of how its working. Right now there are 5 acceptances on there (all private profiles) but everyone is in the US. One Chinese, one Hispanic, and three caucasians.

GMAT range is 690-750. Median is 740 and mean is 734. Other than the 690, everyone else has a 740+. Interestingly everyone comes from a different industry and GPAs go in reverse order, the two highest GMATs have the worst GPAs.

The real statistical shock, is that its 3 females and 2 males. There is also a female IB on business week with a 710 that is not on admin411 which I didn't include in the gmat eval.

River, how do you know the info about ethnicity and gender?
I am growing more and more worried about not getting an admit... :-(
I am in the US and I am a female... this wait sucks!

If you search for applicant profiles for accepted students it shows up there. It doesn't show up when you just click through the schools. Nervous, you probably have one of the best chances. Your ethnicity, gender, above average GMAT, coming from a male dominated industry...all that really plays a roll. I hope you used where you are originally from because it is one of the single most underrepresented area of the world.

Yeah, but i don't think you can see that field under private profiles - all 5 admits have a private profile.

No go to the search profile function, then for options choose Northwestern and for the decision pick accepted. It should already be in 2010. It will show just the 5 people that got accepted (I am the engineer w/ 740) and give their race.

Well the good news is there are no dings on the 411admissions yet. That means there is still hope...

They have been releasing each day. I found out Tuesday, and on BW someone found out wed and someone found out today.

At least as of right now they are just sending out acceptances. I never got an email, it was the phone then the online status change.
