Since so many people are obsessed with rankings, let's talk about the only one that really matters - the most popular b-school thread on GMATClub! i took the total # of full time MBA students (per businessweek) and the # of pages that each thread on gmat club had as of today, 2/13/10. I then divded the # of pages by the total # of students to get a ratio that shows a thread's popularity while adjusting for class size.
The results? well i'd assume they might fluctuate a little in the next month or so, but as of today, here they are:
Coming in at #1, Haas at .077 pages/student; one of the smallest class sizes, but a ton of activity on their thread. congrats guys
Right behind them in 2nd place, YSOM, .074 pages/student; another very small class size, but thanks to guys like nink, a lot of great discussion in the thread.
coming in the next "tier" are kellogg, booth, and mccombs, all tied for third (.066). kellogg and booth are both perennial favorites on this site, with a large # of gmatclubbers applying. mccombs looks to be an "up and coming" school, and it wouldn't surprise me if they moved up even further in the rankings in a few years.
coming in behind them, and rounding out the "G7" are ross (.059) and fuqua (.052). Some people also include stanford GSB (.050) in the "A8", but I'll leave that one up to you guys.
i'll update this again sometime in april or may once the 2010 action dies down and the 2011 action starts up. enjoy
